AWESOME@The Glades is a brand spanking new community development partnership between AWESOME Arts and LWP Property Group. The Glades is the largest new master-planned community in the south-eastern suburbs, located in Byford. It is on the fast track to become a vibrant community where families can grow, businesses can develop and everyone can thrive.
The AWESOME@The Glades partnership aims to chart new ways of thinking about arts development and community empowerment and encourages homeowners to take stewardship of their community.
AWESOME will be providing an integrated program of arts activities including sculpture, filmmaking, photography, voice/sound, visual arts and even radio broadcasting.
All projects will be developed using LWP’s concept of creating healthy and sustainable communities, with an emphasis on conservation and the natural ecology of the area.
This unique approach to community art aspires to build social networks and instill a sense of place for residents in a rapidly growing new development.

Paper Lantern Workshop

Please join us at the AWESOME Arts stall for a free arts activity creating paper lanterns. AWESOME artist Tania Ferrier will help participants in designing and building the lanterns which will include creative text.
Activities are suitable for the young and young at heart!

Coach pick up at 10:00am from The Glades Sales Office, 131 Abernathy Road
Arrive home at 3:30pm
We are thrilled to organise a fantastic community excursion, providing The Glades & Byford residents an opportunity to attend the AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things in the Perth CBD.
Fun for the whole family, the “AWESOME Day Out” will include a guided tour through a range of interactive art installations as well as a ticket to a live theatre performance and a contemporary arts workshop activity! The group will have an AWESOME Angel Guide on hand to answer any questions. A light lunch will also be included to keep everyone energised for an afternoon of fun and excitement.
Fee: $10/Adult and $5/child
