AWESOME@Vale is a community development partnership between AWESOME Arts and Multiplex Living. Vale is a new master-planned community located north-east of Perth. Throughout the year, local, national and international artists work with the young people living at Vale to collectively create public artworks. The program delivers contemporary arts workshops in sculpture, installation, new media, illustration, scriptwriting and filmmaking to harness an awareness and appreciation of Vale’s natural environment and a greater sense of community involvement.

AWESOME@Vale aims to chart new ways of thinking about arts development and community empowerment and encourages homeowners to take stewardship of their community. Some artworks created at Vale are also showcased at the AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things, held annually each November in the Perth CBD.

This unique approach to community art continues to build social networks and instil a sense of place for residents in a rapidly growing new development. The innovative partnership was recognised as a finalist in the Western Australian Business and the Arts Partnership Awards last year.

AWESOME@Vale was created in 2007 and was seen as an opportunity for AWESOME Arts and Multiplex Living to reshape the development industry through the use of a creative and interactive approach.

What's Happening Now…

AWESOME Arts and Multiplex Living are currently working together to facilitate an after school arts program run in conjunction with Swan Valley Anglican Community School.
