FEAST Exhibition
Bridget Waters
Western Australia 16–23 Nov Western Australia Museum - Perth
Ever wanted to play with your food? The talented young people of regional WA did just that with ‘FEAST‘- AWESOME’s Creative Challenge food art project that visited 10 regional and remote communities and one metropolitan community in 2008. We facilitated workshops where talented young artists created wondrous works of art out of food including jelly crystal portraits, bread and beetroot wildflowers and biscuit shearing sheds just to name a few!
The 2008 Creative Challenge explored ideas of identity, environment, family and history throughout the communities of Kalgoorlie, Morawa, Mullewa, Carnarvon, Leonora, Wiluna, Lake Grace, Pia Wadjarri, Jarlmadangah, Mount Magnet and Medina.
The culinary creations of each community are being showcased in an inspiring installation at the Western Australian Museum. You too can create your own food art at our ‘FEAST‘ workshops throughout the AWESOME Festival.
