Underground
Dancenorth
Queensland (Australia) 19–22 Nov PICA
Underground is an astonishing dance theatre performance by Dance North, set in a subway during peak hour. For bustling commuters, the underground is an ominous space of fluid transition between dull reality and a fantastical dream world. Travellers display dichotomous traits of humanity from social detachment to compassion and kindness in a crowded world that feels both familiar and unsettling.
Underground is a startlingly athletic journey between the gloomy and mysterious, to the fun and humorous, featuring a dynamic soundtrack including Nine Inch Nails, Nick Cave and Messerchups.
