Tinkerer and quirkologist Jens Altheimer will set up tent in front of the WA museum to build a unique chain- reaction machine this October. He will work and tinker in collaboration with all aspiring Perthian makers to complete the wacky, funny, exciting cause and effect machine, adding to the contraption bit by bit each day.
Get your hands working at building! Transform items like used brooms, kitchen scales, sun umbrellas (or even objects you might bring from home) into working elements of a gigantic Rube Goldberg machine.
FREE Tinker Space: Creativity, problem solving, precision, learning through doing, communication and team work. All are encouraged, while children gain some hands-on understanding of the ‘cause and effect’ principle.
Each day, Jens will work with participants on a new part of the machine. Come back each afternoon as sessions culminate in a joyful run of the growing machine elements. Witness the huge on-going domino effect contraption.
