You are invited to accept the AWESOME Smarter Than Smoking Creative Challenge in 2006/07!

THE MISSION:
A group from your school or community will work alongside a team of professional artists to create a large-scale fantastic metal sculpture. Your materials are an enormous collection of recycled bike frames and parts, along with purpose- built industrial connectors, designed to fit together in endless permutations and combinations.

With help from the AWESOME artists in residence, a giant kinetic sculpture will emerge. For the one-week regional residencies, a variety of other complementary hands-on activities will take place around this central sculptural core, utilizing other mediums and engaging your students, whatever their interests.

Metropolitan workshops will be tailored to your needs and can operate within your time constraints, as a half or whole day experience. The outcomes from these residencies and workshops will be displayed at a special exhibition during the Awesome Festival in Perth in November.

Target Audience (Years): Years 1-10

Cost: Each participating community pays only a small proportion of the total cost to participate. Please contact us to discuss the cost for your community, and funding avenues you may be eligible to explore.
