The 2017 theme I Hear You was about celebrating and hearing the voices of young people and encouraging them to listen to others around them. This theme was centred around creating and building empathy in children, helping them work together, and responding to one another with consideration.
Through this theme, Creative Challenge cultivated the act of listening to others and presented the sharing of ideas, opinions and concerns through art. These ideas had a wide field of reference, which enabled and encouraged children to explore a variety of places and/or ideas that were central to their wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around them.
In 2017 Creative Challenge visited 20 regional, remote and outer metropolitan communities including Port Hedland, Newman, Rockingham, Leonora, Kalgoorlie, Wiluna and Onslow supported by our Principal Partner, BHP, Coolgardie, Bunbury, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Mt Magnet, South Hedland, Punmu and Kunawarritji Presented by Go for 2&5 and Yungngora which was supported by the State Library of Western Australia.
