Creative Challenge 2016 saw an incredible year of artists working with young people in the communities of: Newman, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Punmu/Kunawarritji supported by our Principal Partner, BHP Billiton, and Kalbarri, Mount Magnet, Gascoyne Junction, Mowanjum, Bunbury, Coolgardie and Rockingham, Presented by Go for 2&5.
2016 saw 23 artists work with over 700 participants living in regional, rural and remote Western Australia. The theme for Creative Challenge 2016 was Seed, which encouraged participants to explore a variety of ideas that are central to their well being, community and environment. The project took many different shapes due to the diversity of the artists involved and participants produced some truly amazing artwork. Some of this work included videos, stop motion animations, illustrations, screen-printing, large-scale sculptures, puppet shows, performances and installations.
Creative Challenge residency program is made possible with the support of Principal Partner BHP Billiton, and Healthway.
